Manchester City Remove Release Clause In Erling Haaland’s Contract
Haaland has been a roaring success in his first season at the Etihad where he has already scored 47 goals in 40 appearances at the club.
But rumours of a move to Real Madrid next year have been doing the rounds for several months and he genuinely has the ambition of playing for the Spanish giants.
And a £150m buyout clause was expected to come into effect at the end of his second season at Manchester City.
But it has been claimed that the problematic clause was removed once Guardiola agreed to sign a new contract until 2025.
The release clause was linked with the Manchester City manager’s future and it will not come into effect next year.
However, it is unclear whether a similar release clause will kick in at some point in the original contract he signed last summer.
Manchester City are interested in offering him a new deal and Haaland is open to negotiations.
The Norwegian is happy at the Etihad and has been pleased that Manchester City have kept the promises they made when they signed him.
