Harry Kane transfer news odds: Bookies reveal favourite for Tottenham star as PSG prepare to rival Man Utd for £88m deal

THE battle to sign Tottenham and England superstar Harry Kane is hotting up with several of Europe’s biggest sides fighting for his signature.

But it’s Manchester United who are considered leading contenders as Erik ten Hag searches for the missing piece of the puzzle at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are overwhelming favourites at 11/8 as the club seek a significant upgrade to centre-forward Wout Weghorst, who will leave when his loan deal expires this summer.

Bayern Munich are second in the betting markets at 11/2.

The Bundesliga champions are in desperate need of a top class striker, and still haven’t replaced Robert Lewandowski at the Allianz Arena.

Newcastle are considered genuine contenders at 16/1 and would certainly have the financial muscle to pull off a significant deal before the transfer window closes in September.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain are now in the conversation at 25/1.

However, those odds could soon shorten following claims from newspaper Le Parisien that PSG have made Kane a priority to replace the departing Lionel Messi.

The report adds that Tottenham are likely to demand somewhere in the region of £88million for their prized asset, whose contract expires in June 2024.

If he doesn’t pen an extension, the player will be allowed to discuss terms with clubs outside of England, and perhaps leave on a free transfer next summer.

But many in England are of the opinion that Kane would rather not leave the Premier League though, with Alan Shearer’s goal scoring record in his sights.

Kane now has 206 Premier League goals and is third on the all time list, just two off Wayne Rooney and 54 shy of Shearer’s 260.

The 29-year-old is averaging around 25 league goals per season, so would theoretically only take another couple of season to break Shearer’s long standing record.

The striker has spent the entirety of his professional career on the books at Tottenham, which include a number of loan spells he was sent on as a youngster.

Having broken into the team at age 21, Kane has gone on to score a record breaking 272 goals for Tottenham across his 426 appearances.

Kane has also been the captain of England for five years now, having been appointed to the role in the build up to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where he went on to become just the second Englishman to win a World Cup Golden Boot.

The England captain has scored goals for fun for almost his entire career, but one department where he’s lacking is the number of trophies the 29-year-old has won.

Despite his record breaking number of goals, the Tottenham frontman is still yet to get his hands on any piece of silverware for club or country.

It’s becoming increasingly likely that the striker may seek a move away from north London in order to join a club with a better chance of winning silverware.
