GA Prosecutor's Delay Of Indictments Is Bad News For Trump
In late January, we were all pretty sure that former President Donald Trump would be indicted soon in the Georgia case after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis told a judge that decisions on whether and whom to charge in the probe "are imminent." Well, that hasn't happened, and we're in late April. The reason for the delay, though, is terrible news for the one-term President.
Willis said on Monday that she aims to announce any indictments by mid-July to September 1st, according to a letter she sent to a top local law enforcement official. She said she expects to announce charging decisions in the case this summer and urged "heightened security." That doesn't sound good for Trump, but it gets worse.
The New York Times reports that the delay is, in part, "is because a number of witnesses have sought to cooperate as the investigation has neared an end."
In short, witnesses are flipping like flapjacks on a hot griddle. The flippers are possibly among the fake electors, and it's leading Willis to try and get a state GOP-paid lawyer kicked off the matter because that attorney never conveyed immunity offers to the electors.
