Eleven suspects have been detained over links to violence in Kaliaganj, Uttar Dinajpur in connection with the death of a teenage girl who had not been raped, according to a preliminary post-mortem examination report. Several vehicles were said to have been set alight in a protest by miscreants, who claimed that the 17-year-old girl had been raped and murdered. Prohibitory orders remain in place under Section 144 of CrPC. The girl was found dead last week in a canal in the town.
