Man stabbed to death in the street as police launch murder probe
COPS have launched an urgent murder probe after a man was stabbed to death on a street.
Police and emergency services rushed to the scene on Queensbridge Road in Birmingham just before 2.30am this morning.
The man was confirmed dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.
Kings Heath High Street was closed between Station Road and Queensbridge Road following the fatal knifing.
Forensic police were spotted at the scene searching bins and combing over the area.
The cordon will remain in place while police carry out an investigation into the man’s death.
National Express bus services 11A/C, 35, 50 and 76 were diverted this morning following the tragedy.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “A murder investigation is under way after a man was fatally stabbed in Kings Heath this morning.
“We were called to High Street, near the junction with Queensbridge Road, just before 2.25am after a man suffered serious injuries.
“Despite the best efforts of emergency services he was confirmed dead at the scene. A cordon is currently in place while we carry out investigations into why this happened and who was responsible. We thank everyone for their patience while we do so.
