How to watch F1 online free with a VPN
TV channels in various countries across the Europe, including Austria and Belgium, show Formula 1 coverage live – but if you try to access them from the UK, you’ll find their content is ‘geo-restricted’ and blocked.
However, if you download a VPN you can bypass this issue by routing your internet activity through a server that’s based in one of these countries.
- Download a VPN such as ExpressVPN or NordVPN to your streaming device.
- Load up the VPN, and select a server based in either Austria or Belgium.
- On the device, head to either Servus TV (Austria) or RTBF (Belgium).
- Search for Formula 1, sit back, and enjoy the racing.
It’s really that simple – and yes, using a VPN to access streaming content abroad is 100% legal.
However, we want emphasise that if you’re overseas and you want to watch any live UK TV abroad, you need to have a UK TV license, regardless of the channel.
How to watch F1 on TV in the UK
If you’d prefer to take a more traditional route to watch the F1, you’ll need to sign up to Sky, who currently has the exclusive rights to Formula 1 coverage.
It’s on Sky Sports F1 and there are various pays to get this.
You can pick up a Sky Q box, which requires satellite installation, or you buy a Sky Stream TV streaming box, which uses wi-fi instead.
There’s also the Sky Glass television, which is Sky’s all-in-one product.
In any case, you’ll need to sign up for Sky Sports F1 as a bolt-on extra to the standard TV package.
