All 3 NBA road underdogs covered double-digit spreads Tuesday night but only the Hawks saved their season

Tuesday night was big for NBA bettors keen on playoff basketball.

Double-digit spreads were set for all three matchups, and it might have been a long shot to expect each road underdog in the Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Los Angeles Clippers to cover. With their opponents, the Boston Celtics, Denver Nuggets, and Phoenix Suns, all holding 3-1 series leads and looking to advance to the next round — it would’ve been a tough ask.

And yet: that’s precisely what they did! They held their own despite three double-digit spreads set beforehand!

Unfortunately for Anthony Edwards’ Timberwolves and the Clippers, only the Hawks actually won and extended their season against Boston. That came courtesy of an ice-cold Trae Young three-pointer.
