Who is hosting the King’s coronation concert?
King Charles‘ coronation concert will be hosted by actor Hugh Bonneville.
The 59-year-old is best known for starring in Downton Abbey and the Paddington films.
Speaking about leading the star-studded event, he said: “I’m delighted to be taking part in this unique event, celebrating the best of musical entertainment in honour of His Majesty’s coronation.
“In true British style, come rain or shine it will be a night to remember.”
Who is performing at the coronation concert?
After much anticipation, the official line-up for the concert has finally been announced.
Lionel Richie, who was the first global ambassador of the Prince‘s Trust, has been confirmed as a performer.
Speaking to People Magazine , Richie said: “I mean, you don’t get in the business and say, ‘You know what? I’ll be at the King’s coronation.’ You know, that just never comes up.
“[It’s] A, a surprise. B, what an honour. And C, the fact of all the names that are out there that he could have had for this, he called my name.”
Take That will perform with three of its original members: Gary Barlow, Haward Donald and Mark Owen.
The boy band’s other member Robbie Williams reportedly turned down the offer.
Katy Perry will be playing as well as Italian opera star Andrea Bocelli and Welsh singer Sir Bryn Terfel will perform a due.
Iconic American singer Bette Midler will also reportedly make an appearance.
Singer songwriter Freya Ridings and classical composer Alexis Ffrenh will also take to the stage as a duo.
Adele, Ed Sheeran, the Spice Girls and Elton John have all declined the offer to perform.
Where is the coronation concert taking place?
The concert is taking place on the grounds of Windsor Castle in Berkshire.
The gig will start at 8 pm on May 7.

The concert will be broadcast live from the grounds of Windsor Castle on BBC One, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.
