Coronation Street fans cheer as Amy Barlow confronts rapist Aaron Sandford after booze overdose
CORONATION Street fans are cheering after Amy Barlow confronted rapist Aaron Sandford.
The student – who is played by actress Elle Mulvaney in the ITV soap – was raped by Aaron after she fell unconscious earlier this year.
But tonight after finally admitting to herself what happened, she ended up drinking herself almost to death.
Luckily she was found by Summer Spellman and rushed to hospital where she opened up to her parents.
However they were all shocked when rapist Aaron turned up in her hotel room and asked to speak to her.
“I’m glad you’re OK,” he said to an incredulous Amy who demanded to know why he was really there.
“I came to say sorry,” Aaron said but Amy wasn’t going to let him off the hook.
“For raping me?” she asked, adding: “For being a rapist and then getting away with it?”
Aaron said he wasn’t a rapist – despite all evidence to the contrary – but Amy stood up to his nonsense.
She told him: “It’s not a very nice word, is it? Does it make you feel uncomfortable? You can’t bring yourself to say it but you’ve got no problem doing it…
“You know what you did, so why can’t you just admit it? There’s nobody else here, I’m not recording it on my phone or anything.
“So come on – admit it. Admit it to me. Say that you raped me. I need to hear you say it. You still can’t admit it. You know what you are.”
Viewers were cheering for Amy as she confronted rapist Aaron.
One wrote: “Amy taking back power and control [love heart emoji].”
