Report: Details as Spurs duo Lo Celso and Bryan Gil shine in Sevilla vs Villarreal
Two on-loan Tottenham stars came up against one another on Sunday as Sevilla took on Villareal, with Football. London revealing in their weekly loan update that both Giovani Lo Celso and Bryan Gil impressed for their respective sides.
Sevilla emerged 2-1 winners owing to Youssef En-Nesyri’s stoppage-time strike but despite being on the losing side, Lo Celso was one of the best players on the pitch.
In fact, The Argentine was named as Whoscored’s star man for Villarreal with a rating of 7.6, notching up three key passes and two shots as well as two tackles.
Gil, meanwhile, started and got 58 minutes under his belt and according to Football.London, the winger finished the game with a passing accuracy of 93.3 per cent, which was the highest of any player.
Meanwhile, Sergio Reguilon got his first minutes since January as he came on for the final 11 minutes of Atletico Madrid’s 1-0 defeat at Barcelona on Sunday.
Tanguy Ndombele surprisingly got back-to-back starts under his belt, with the midfielder keeping his place in the starting eleven for Napoli’s clash away at Juventus.
The Frenchman played 68 minutes at the Allianz Stadium as Giacomo Raspadori’s 93rd-minute winner saw Luciano Spalletti’s men emerge with all three points and move one step closer to lifting the Scudetto.
Destiny Udogie played all 90 minutes in Udinese’s 3-0 victory against Cremonese on Sunday while Harry Winks played 79 minutes before being taken off in Sampdoria’s 1-1 draw against Spezia.
Finally, Djed Spence and Joe Rodon were both unused substitutes as Rennes lost 1-0 at Montpellier, with the right-back now having been left on the substitute bench for three consecutive matches since the return of captain Hamari Traore from injury.
Spurs Web Opinion
Lo Celso is seemingly continuing his excellent form and proving that he can be a very useful player in the right system.
Out of all the players currently out on loan, I think the Argentine, along with Djed Spence, have the best chance of impressing the next Tottenham manager and potentially having a future at the club.
