Cow pies fly as Devin Nunes loses yet another lawsuit over his family's dairy farm

Former U.S. Rep. Devin Nunes loses more lawsuits than he does bath sponges in Donald Trump’s spumescent corpus. So while the latest news may be just another day at the office for Devin, it’s still worth celebrating. To wit: A federal judge has issued a summary judgment dismissing a libel suit Nunes brought against reporter Ryan Lizza over a 2018 Esquire story suggesting the Nunes family dairy farm may have hired undocumented workers. 

Sure, Nunes isn’t in Congress anymore, but he does wield influence as CEO of Donald Trump’s wee Twitter knockoff Truth Social, and Trump presumably lets him pretend to run it, like he’s a tot with a toy steering wheel in the back seat of a minivan. And so it’s fair and appropriate to titter—or even laugh uproariously—at his misfortune.

On Tuesday, U.S. District Court Judge C.J. Williams assessed that the claims made by Lizza in his story, “Devin Nunes’s Family Farm is Hiding a Politically Explosive Secret,” (namely that his family’s dairy farm knowingly employed undocumented laborers) were “substantially, objectively true.” And with that, Nunes’ suit disintegrated like Randy Quaid’s Underoos on Day 27 of a Bangkok bath salts bender.
