I’m A Celeb South Africa fans spot secret ‘major change’ to all-stars series – but they have one big complaint about it
I’M A Celebrity South Africa fans have spotted a secret “major change” to the All-Stars series – and all have one complaint about it.
Viewers of the popular ITV series took to social media to point out the difference between the latest episodes and previous series of the show filmed in Australia and Wales.
I’m A Celeb kicked off on Monday night with a round of familiar faces – including Carol Vorderman, Janice Dickinson and Shaun Ryder.
And just minutes into the first show – as the celebs were faced with their first challenge – viewers at home noticed one major difference.
They flocked to Twitter to admit they thought the language use was “worse than ever”, with more swearing than in previous series.
Viewers have noticed that many more f-bombs have been dropped than usual, but they have remained bleeped out despite the programme airing after the watershed.
“The language seems to be a lot worse than the usual series… it is more realistic,” one fan wrote on Reddit.
While another chimed in on Twitter: “Why are they bleeping out all of the swearing? We know what they are saying!”
“Ant and Dec actually swearing!” a third penned, while a fourth said: “Stop bleeping out all the swearing, it’s past 9pm!”
“Fatima sure is swearing a lot for someone who kicked off last time for other people swearing,” a fifth said.
“Lads. It’s 27 minutes past 9 and this is pre recorded, why am I hearing bleeped swearing?” a sixth said.
It comes after I’m A Celeb fans slammed the show for “cruelly” using animals AGAIN – despite 71,000 ‘complaints’ last year about welfare.
Fans flooded social media to hit out at the ITV series for using live animals, including birds and reptiles, as well as bugs for entertainment on their shows.
The first episode saw the celebrities enter the jungle through a number of Bushtucker Trial style tasks, from jumping off of cliffs to hopping across bouncy balls 2,000ft in the air.
Janice, Shaun and Paul were tasked in the first animal-related trial – sticking their hands into pockets full of rats, spiders and creepy crawlies.
Now just two episodes in, fans are riled up about the use of animals after hitting out against it in the last Australian series.
Taking to Twitter, viewers slammed the use of the animals as “traumatising” and they hit out they should stop.
“I see I’m A Celeb is still traumatising animals in the name of entertainment, but because they aren’t cute and fluffy, people don’t give a s**t,” one wrote.
Another chimed in: “I hate this. There is no need to use animals it’s disgusting,” while a third said: “Human narcissism takes precedence over animal welfare.”
“One thing’s for sure. I’m A Celebrity cares nothing about animal welfare…” a fourth penned.
The RSPCA also tweeted before the first show: “As a new series of I’m A Celeb launches, we fear that year again we’ll see live animals being exploited for entertainment purposes.”
Last year, I’m A Celeb was hit with a record number of complaints – as 71,000 people hit out over the Bushtucker Trials.
