I’m a pro cleaner, there are 6 furniture items I’d steer clear of – they look great but they’re impossible to keep clean
A PROFESSIONAL cleaner has revealed the six pieces of furniture she’d keep well away from.
She went on to say that while they may be tempting as they look great, they’re an absolute nightmare to clean and should be banned from homes.
Domestic cleaner and social media cleanfluencer Cleans By Mrs Finch spoke from experience, as she recalled trying to get certain things sparkling.
She explained: “These are a few things that I wouldn’t have in my house as a professional cleaner.
“It’s just because they’re so hard to keep clean and I would like to point out that some of them I do have and like – but they’re just not practical.”
Mrs Finch then launched into her six strong list in the video posted to her TikTok account @cleansbymrsfinch.
The Essex-based cleaner began as she said: “Mirrored furniture is so hard to keep clean.
“It gathers the dust really, really quickly and, because it’s reflective, you can see the dust even clearer.”
She said the same for the next trend she often spots – mirror above staircases.
Cleans By Mrs Finch revealed: “I just think they’re such a bad idea in the first place.
“I mean, who is tall enough to reach the top of them? It’s a no.”
Next, she moved onto the kitchen items that are best avoided, including high gloss kitchen cabinets.
She explained: “They’re really hard to keep clean and they can be really streaky, or show every little fingerprint when you’re opening the door.”
The TikToker added: “They look great but they’re so impractical.”
Another common item she said should be re-evaluated is the shutter blind.
She continued: “I love the look of blinds, but I hate to clean them.
“And they collect so much dust that it’s just so hard to keep on top of – especially the metal ones, they’re really hard.”
Focusing her attention on the bathroom, she picked up on another rising trend and said why you should think twice about following it.
She explained: “Matte black bathrooms look so lovely, but they’re SO hard to clean.
“And then once they’re dry, they show every single little mark again and you have to be so careful with what you use on them.”
And last, but not least, is another bathroom aesthetic related to the shower.
@cleansbymrsfinch concluded: “With corner showers, it’s really difficult to keep the glass clean because the squeegees don’t fit in there properly.
“Plus, they get all limescale everywhere and in the corners you can’t reach.”
