EastEnders fans demand Ronnie Mitchell returns to soap after BBC announces Roxy’s comeback against all odds
EASTENDERS fans have demanded Ronnie Mitchell return after the BBC announced her sister Roxy’s shock comeback.
The long-running soap will reintroduce the character of Roxy Mitchell briefly this week.
Actress Rita Simons, 46, told The Sun she’s being lined up for a return six years after Roxy appeared to drown in a pool alongside sister Ronnie Mitchell, played by Sam Womack, on the latter’s wedding day.
Roxy will return to Walford during tonight’s instalment of EastEnders.
On screen she will be seen with her daughter Amy, as the teen continues to struggle with her mental health.
Rita is hopeful for cameo will lead to a full comeback in the future.
However, following the news, fans have demanded that Ronnie Mitchell is also brought back from the dead.
One viewer said: “I don’t give a sh*** if it would be the most ridiculous storyline ever and I don’t care how they do it, Eastenders need to bring Ronnie and Roxy back.”
A second posted: “Someone bring Ronnie Mitchell back please. I miss that character so much.”
“Now all we need is Ronnie Mitchell to come back somehow,” said a third.
While a fourth said: “I will start watching again if Ronnie and Roxy return. Don’t care how it’s done.”
Ronnie tragically died just hours after she married Jack Branning on New Year’s Day in 2017.
Disaster struck as Jack needed to put the kids to bed and Ronnie took her sister up to the roof for a drink above the pool as Max waited for Roxy in her room.
However, after Roxy jumped into the pool while messing around, she quickly got into trouble.
In a bid to save her sister, Ronnie jumped into the water.
But her wedding dress weighed her down and she screamed for Roxy before drowning next to her at the bottom of the pool as the clock struck midnight.
