David Beckham cleans his candles daily as extent of his OCD is revealed for the first time
HE has spoken previously of his struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and admitted he likes to keep everything in straight lines or pairs.
But now the extent of David Beckham’s OCD has been laid bare in a new Netflix series about his life.
The former England captain has opened up the doors to his world with ex Spice Girls singer Victoria and revealed he will spend hours cleaning and tidying when everyone else has gone to bed.
Speaking from his kitchen in the series, which is due out later this year, David explained: “I clean it so well, I’m not sure it’s actually appreciated so much by my wife, in all honesty.
“The fact that when everyone’s in bed I then go around, clean the candles, turn the lights on to the right setting, make sure everywhere is tidy.
“I hate coming down in the morning and there’s cups and plates and, you know, bowls.”

Explaining he also cleans every used candle before bed, David added: “It’s tiring going around every single candle cleaning it.
“I clip the candle wax, I clean the glass, that’s my pet hate, the smoke around the inside of a candle… I know, it’s weird.”
The series also shows David ticking off Victoria for not putting away the salt.
When asked about his habits, Vic is heard saying: “He’s just so perfect,” before telling David: “You are appreciated.”
He doesn’t seem convinced though and is seen telling Posh: “Don’t believe that for a second, she sounds so sarcastic when she says it.”
You can come over to my place anytime, David, and I promise your help around the house would be more than appreciated.
David’s as-yet-untitled show will also feature never-before-seen home videos and interviews with those closest to him.
The Sun exclusively revealed how David had signed a £16million deal with the streaming giant in October 2020.
A source at the time said: “This is a real coup for Netflix — and will show a completely different side to David, one the public very rarely get to see.
“David’s family are all massive archivers; they’ve been proudly documenting his career since he was a boy and have kept all the old local newspaper cuttings, school records and team photos throughout the years.
“There’s even some classic camcorder footage from various birthdays, Christmases and special occasions, as well as some hilarious insights into David and Victoria’s early dates.
“Needless to say, David is bound to come off brilliantly while viewers will get to see Victoria’s quick wit.
“A camera crew will also document David’s life now, following him around the globe as he fulfils various business ventures.”
