'I Nearly Died': TX Woman Blasts GOP Senators Over Abortion Ban
Amanda Zurawski, one of five Texas women plaintiffs in a lawsuit that the Center for Reproductive Rights filed against the state, stood bravely at the podium to testify at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on "The Assault on Reproductive Rights in a Post-Dobbs America." Zurawski went through a harrowing experience after she was denied an abortion. Zurawski even developed life-threatening sepsis, but it was completely avoidable.
She said she was denied an abortion even though she "nearly died" on Sens. Ted Cruz and John Cornyn's watch. She added that she "may have been robbed of the opportunity to have children in the future." The two Senators cowards didn't even attend the hearing.
"And I wanted to address my Senators, Cruz and Cornyn, neither of whom regrettably are in the room right now, but I would like for them to know that what happened to me, I think most people in this room would agree, was horrific," Zurawski said.
"But it's a direct result of the policies that they support," she continued. "I nearly died on their watch. And furthermore, as a result of what happened to me, I may have been robbed of the opportunity to have children in the future."
"And it's because of the policies that they support," she said. "What happened to me was horrible, but I am one of many. And quite frankly, I'm lucky."
