Dodge City, Kan. – The Friends University Women's Golf Falcons posted a sixth-place showing at the KCAC Championship at Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City, Kan.
Bethany College won the team title with a score of 313-323-311-947, 12 strokes ahead of runner-up Kansas Wesleyan University (319-325-315-959).
The Falcons shot 339-349-354 as a team, led by Ava Staver (77-84-84-245) with a 13th place overall finish.
Kennedy Birk, a second-team All-KCAC performer, was right behind in a tie for 15th at 80-83-88-251.
Alayna Welch (89-89-92-270) was tied for 28th, with Makenzie Cobb (93-90-183) coming in 35th followed by Emily Hill (93-96-189) in 36th for the Falcons.
"I was super proud of the women fighting through the toughest weather conditions we have had all year," said Friends women's golf head coach Paul Howe. "We have also been struggling with minor injuries that really hampered our overall scoring this year. With the players we have returning and the best recruiting class I have had to date, the future looks really bright."
