BJP insiders said the party was keen to contest at least 10 seats, including South Chennai, Nilgiris, Tirunelveli, Sivaganga, Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi. BJP contested only five seats last time. It has managed to win Coimbatore and Kanyakumari in different LS polls
