...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 PM CDT FOR
SOUTHEASTERN CAMERON COUNTY...
At 242 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cameron Park, Downtown Brownsville, Southmost, Port Of Brownsville,
Brownsville, Lincoln Park, B I S D Administration Building, Longoria
Elementary School, Sams Memorial Stadium and Hanna High School.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
