Vicky Wright dead: Comedian Bobby Davro’s fiancée dies after cancer battle as tributes flood in
BOBBY Davro’s fiancée Vicky Wright has died after a battle with cancer leaving her loved ones “devastated”.
The singer and actress died aged 63, her family announced.
It comes just days after the comedian revealed his girlfriend was battling pancreatic cancer.
The 64-year-old told of the “absolute agony” of watching his fiancée fighting for her life.
Kelly Wright-Warhurst posted a message on her mother’s Twitter page to say that Vicky had died on Wednesday morning.
Mrs Wright-Warhurst said: “Hello everyone. Some incredibly devastating news to share as my wonderful mum Vicky has sadly passed away this morning.
“I wanted to use this platform to let you all know, as I know how much she valued all your love and support in so many ways.”
Vicky was the daughter of Wolverhampton Wanderers and England football legend Sir Billy Wright and singer Joy Beverley.
She was diagnosed last year with the same cancer that killed her father.
Despite her struggle, Bobby said that they have tried to “keep on laughing” as a couple, who have been together for 12 years.
Tributes have now poured in from across the country after the sad news.
Arsenal legend Ray Parlour wrote: “So sorry for your loss. Sending [heart emoji] to you and your family.”
Radio broadcaster Russell Kane tweeted: “RIP Vicky Wright. Funny, charming, glamorous, down to earth. My deepest condolences to her fiancee @BobbyDavro1 and to her family. F*** cancer.”
Newsreader Nick Owen tweeted: “Oh no. Shattering news. I had known Vicky for more than 40 years and loved her company.
“Her dad Billy gave me my first job in television. I feel terribly sad tonight. Thoughts with all the family x.”
Les Dennis said: “So very sad to hear this. Vicky was a lovely woman and a talented performer. Thoughts with you and family and friends.”
