India's commerce and industry minister, Piyush Goyal, has praised Boeing and sought greater presence in the country. Air India, which is owned by the Tata Group, recently announced a deal to buy 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing worth $80bn, the biggest such purchase from an airline. Goyal said he hopes to see Boeing expand its local supply chains and have more maintenance, repair and operations activities in India.
