We’re sizes medium, large & XXL & all tried Kim Kardashian’s new Skims swimwear – safe to say it’s not that practical
A GROUP of woman who range from a size medium to an XXL decided to try Kim Kardashian’s new Skims swimwear line and there were mixed reviews.
Sierra Schultzzie shared the haul and roped in three of her friends to really put the different options to the test.
Off the bat, Sierra, who is an XXL, was impressed with the quality of the bikini she picked out for herself in the brand new electric blue colour.
The high waisted bottoms fitted the fashion fan like a dream, but she did end up ordering the bikini top in an XXXL to make sure there was enough coverage.
“I feel so good in these,” Sierra said when she tried on the bikini bottoms, but even in a size larger to bikini top was a bit too revealing for her taste.
“It’s under boob central. Now, to be fair, it’s advertised as the micro top and this is the way Kim is wearing it in the photos, it’s just a little uncomfortable for me,” she explained.
After wearing the look on the beach and in the pool, she gave it the bottoms a score of nine out of 10 and the top a five.
Putting the size large to the test, Rachel wore the neon green lace up monokini and loved the look of it, even if it was awkward to get on.
“Getting into the swimsuit was one of the more confusing experiences of my life, there’s so many strings,” she said.
Things were going great when Rachel posed in the saucy swim look, but as soon as the group hit the pool it was clear it wasn’t fit for purpose.
“All day I’m looking cute, I’m feeling hot, I’m super confident and then we get to the pool, I get in the water and I’m like ‘oh that’s right, this suit is not meant to be swam in,” she said.
She gave the suit a rating of nine of of 10 for looks, but a zero in terms of functionality.
Ryan also tried on a size Large monokini which she loved for taking pictures on the beach, but thought was for too impractical for swimming or any other water activities.
Even though it came with detachable straps they kept coming undone during the water obstacle course the group did, which wasn’t ideal.
But despite the issues, Ryan still gave the swimsuit a nine out of 10, but recommended using the straps if you want to do more than lounge by the pool.
Meanwhile, Paloma tried on the matching ruched mini skirt, cheeky bottoms and the long sleeve bikini top in a size medium.
One of the main problems was that the off long sleeves restricts Paloma from moving her arms around.
She had a similar problem with the skirt, “I had to keep readjusting because the skirt kept sliding down, sliding up, it just wouldn’t stay in place when wet,” she explained.
For sunbathing or sitting by the pool, she gave the look a five out of ten, but for practicality it only got a three.
“It’s just for pictures,” she said.
