6 Militants Killed in Pakistan’s Balochistan: ISPR
Following a clearance operation at the Muslim Bagh Town on Saturday, all six Balochistan-based terrorists were killed. The development came after militants stormed a camp in the town this morning.
The operation reportedly started on Friday after the “initial onslaught of terrorists” was successfully repelled early on Saturday morning, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
“The complex clearance operation involved a hostage rescue operation in saving three families from a residential block. The terrorists had not even spared children of their horrendous approach,” said the ISPR.
The six well-equipped terrorists in the compound were all killed by the security forces, according to the military’s media wing. It was further said that the “necessary intelligence follow-up” was in progress to “trace their linkages, arrest facilitators, and expose their sponsors”.
“In the process of clearance operation, seven sons of the soil, including a civilian, have embraced shahadat while another six individuals, including a woman, have been injured,” the statement added.
Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, expressed “deep grief and sorrow” at the martyrdom of two Pakistan Army personnel and a civilian during the operation against terrorists.
Since the end of the ceasefire in November last year, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has intensified its attacks in the country. Targeting military personnel, local people and foreigners.
