Following a brief restoration late on Friday, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter were unavailable throughout Pakistan on Saturday, Report said.
Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are down again in Pakistan after having been temporarily restored, according to Reuters witnesses.
On Tuesday night, in response to unrest following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by the country’s anti-corruption agency, the Ministry of Interior shut down mobile broadband connections nationwide and suspended access to Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
According to the witnesses, the major social media platforms were once more accessible on Friday night but not Saturday.
Digital services, particularly digital payments, have suffered a loss of productivity due to the shutdown.
Due to the suspension of internet services, Pakistan’s telecommunications businesses lost 2.46 billion rupees in revenue, which also resulted in a drop of Rs861 million in tax revenue for the government, local media reported.
