Oasis could reunite to play massive gig at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium
THE possible Oasis reunion could now happen at the Etihad Stadium — home of Noel and Liam Gallagher’s beloved Manchester City.
I’m told discussions surrounding a potential 2025 comeback for the warring brothers’ band continue to rumble on behind closed doors, and the famous football ground has been mooted as a potential venue.
I previously revealed how Liam’s agents Wasserman had put forward a plan to perform four nights at Knebworth in June 2025.
The summer comeback concerts would mark the 30th anniversary of (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?, Oasis’s 22 million-selling 1995 album.
They would perform to up to 125,000 fans a night at the stadium, which they last played in 2005.
And the pair are bound to be buzzing after their beloved team became FA Cup champs yesterday by beating arch rivals Manchester United 2-1.
A source said: “Liam loves football, and reuniting the band at his favourite stadium would be a dream come true.
“It’s still very early days and the proposed dates are a long way off, but if all the members agree to do it, music history will be made.”
Rumours of a reunion have sparked some lively name-calling between Liam and Noel over the last few weeks, but I’m told the siblings just enjoy upping the ante publicly.
Both are playing solo concerts next year, which they will want fans to focus on before getting excited about possible Oasis gigs.
And Noel has an expensive divorce from wife Sara MacDonald to get out of the way in the meantime.
This week Noel said that he would “properly consider” getting Oasis back together if he was given £8million.
While plugging Council Skies, the latest album by his band High Flying Birds, the guitarist was reminded by Radio X presenter Johnny Vaughan that he once told him he would reunite the band if someone offered him the right opportunity.
Johnny said: “A while ago you gave me that chance.
“You said, ‘If you turn up to my house with eight-million quid cash in an Adidas bag, I’d put them back together’.
“If I was the middleman in that, are we still up for that?”
Noel replied: “I would consider it. I would properly consider it, yeah.”
Asked whether it annoys him when people ask about a reunion, he said: “It used to really annoy me when I first started and now it’s just, it’s just whatever . . . I’m fascinated with people asking the same question and getting the same answer.
“But the thing that is ongoing and will never get old is how the music just keeps appealing to another generation of fans.”
Last month Oasis guitarist Bonehead revealed he wanted the band to reunite next year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of debut album Definitely Maybe.
The musician, whose real name is Paul Arthurs, quit the band in 1999 and still plays on Liam’s solo gigs.
He said: “We open up with Rock ‘n’ Roll Star. The place erupts.
“I look at that first ten rows — they’re all, like, 16.
“These people weren’t even born ’til well into Oasis’s career.
“So if there was a reunion, wouldn’t it be worth it for them to come and witness that?”
NOTHING COY ABOUT NADINE
NADINE COYLE looked Something Kinda Ooooh as she stepped on stage at Mighty Hoopla.
The Girls Aloud singer dazzled in a green mini dress with knee-high white boots for the festival in South London.
Nadine sang girl band classics including Sound Of The Underground and Love Machine.
Elsewhere the stars of BBC show I Kissed A Boy were mobbed by fans looking for selfies.
BRIT rising stars Flo gave it their all as they turned up the energy at Mighty Hoopla.
The Cardboard Box hitmakers showed off their slick dance moves and faultless vocals during the festival set.
Members Jorja Douglas, Stella Quaresma and Renee Downer, also looked the part in matching denim gear.
NATALIE’S MARRIAGE WOES
NATALIE PORTMAN is reportedly battling to save her marriage amid US reports that her husband has grown close to a climate change activist.
The Oscar-winning actress is married to dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied, but last week it was revealed that he was spending time with another woman, Camille Etienne, almost 20 year his junior.
Natalie and Benjamin allegedly separated last year but worked through their issues.
The news comes after the couple were pictured at Cannes Film Festival last month and spotted at one of the recent French dates of Beyonce’s world tour.
A source told US website Page Six: “They have not split and are trying to work things out.
“Ben is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family.
“She is incredibly private. Her biggest focus right now is protecting the kids.”

LEO PLAYS CILLA FOR GILL
HE is used to dating beautiful women, but Leonardo DiCaprio is now playing matchmaker Cilla Black.
I can reveal the Hollywood actor was spotted out with Indian-British model Neelam Gill for the third time last week – but sources claim she is dating one of his close pals.
Just two days after introducing the stunning activist to his mum Irmelin at swanky celeb haunt Chiltern Firehouse in London, the Titanic star spent the night with Neelam at private members’ club Annabel’s in the capital on Thursday.
An onlooker said: “Leo and Neelam looked totally relaxed as they sipped cocktails at the exclusive club.
“Anyone would think they were dating but she has been seeing one of his close friends for a few months now.”
I am told that Leo and Neelam spent two-and-a-half hours working their way through the cocktail menu before they were driven separately to Claridge’s hotel in Mayfair.
It comes after Neelam stunned in a green cut-out ensemble, above, at Cannes Film Festival in France last month, with her and Cupid Leo later spotted hanging out together at the nearby Hotel Martinez.

And I can reveal the pair were so successful they’ve landed a second series and will foxtrot off to Spain this summer to delve into Anton’s heritage.
His mum, Ascension Lema, was born in Galicia.
An insider said: “Anton and Gio are thrilled to land another series.
“It will be the same high jinks on the road and they’ll trial lots of cultural activities in Spain – expect bullfighting, feasts and wine-making.”
Anton, whose father was Hungarian, has spoken highly of his hard-working mother, saying last year: “She was the guiding light.
“She epitomises everything that’s kind and loving.
“Never had a day off.”

IT was already set to be the hottest film of the year when Margot Robbie was announced as Barbie.
But with Dua Lipa dropping her movie soundtrack Dance The Night, it now features the perfect summer anthem too.
Speaking to Biz on Sunday, Margot said: “There are movies where you hear a song on the soundtrack and just think, ‘Wow, that fits perfectly’.
“That is what Dua has achieved with Dance The Night – she has totally nailed it.
“It not only fits the movie perfectly, but when you hear it, you will just want to get up and dance.
“Maybe after the London premiere, we can have a few drinks and cut a few shapes to it on the dance floor.
“I am always down for that.”
She teased: “Trust me when I say this movie is going to be everything you don’t expect it to be.”
In the lyrics, Dua sings: “I’ll still keep the party runnin’, not one hair out of place.”

Just hours after Harry Styles played in Edinburgh, Niall showed that another One Direction star can share the spotlight.
Opening with Nice To Meet Ya, the only thing Niall had to battle against was a sea of screaming fans last Sunday as the sun set.
With just his guitar, the Irish singer had the whole crowd singing his new track Heaven before hitmaker Lewis Capaldi bowled on stage to surprise him.
But Niall couldn’t resist paying homage to his roots with a cover of 1D’s Story Of My Life before ending his set with his hit Slow Hands.

Starting with their early days in Detroit, the show introduces Otis Williams – the last surviving member of the original Sixties line-up – who narrates their rise to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Away from the seamless choreography, the musical also shows the downside of their success, including drug addiction.
But, through hits including My Girl and Get Ready, Ain’t Too Proud proves their golden era of music is still shining bright.
