AN adventurer has started his bid to spend a record time on the world’s loneliest island by “DJing” to radio hams.

Cam Cameron aims to survive 60 days on windswept Rockall — 15 more than the most so far.

Rockall is a remote uninhabited North Atlantic rock in the Outer Hebredies[/caption]

Of the 110 people to land there in more than 200 years, only a handful have endured more than a night.

The 100ft wide, 70ft high isle 230 miles west of the Outer Hebrides is pounded by the Atlantic and saw world-record 95ft waves in 2000.

Former soldier Cam is living in a pod on a 11ft by 4ft ledge.

The marine biologist got there by boat five days ago with two pals who stayed two nights to broadcast from the island to radio hams around the world.

He hopes to raise £50,000 for Armed Forces charities with his stay.

Cam said: “Lockdowns made me feel remote, isolated and alone.

“It got me thinking, ‘Can I challenge myself further and do some good?’ Rockall popped up.”
