Taking to TikTok, Grace Langman revealed that she had ‘dug out’ her own bathing area in an attempt to beat the heatwave.

Sharing a clip of her lounging in her ‘hillbilly’ plunge pool, she wrote, “I dug my own pool to get through this mini heatwave… it cost me £20.”

Grace even found a way of enjoying TV from the comfort of her pool by bringing her iPad out to keep her entertained.

Her video has since received over 700,000 views with many keen to find out exactly how she did it.

Explaining her method, Grace said: “Basically just dug a hole padded it out with whatever i found in the shed then used two layers of tarp, add chlorine.

“Different levels so my pets don’t drown and I have a seat.”

Viewers were quick to praise Grace’s efforts, sharing their thoughts in the comments.

Commenting on the video, one wrote: “You know what? It doesn’t have to look fabulous or be massively expensive this is a simple but awesome idea.”

“That’s actually so smart, you can literally just fill it up when you don’t want it anymore,” agreed another.

A third added, “This is amazing and must have been so enjoyable the past few days.”

Some were concerned about the longevity of the pool and criticised Grace’s efforts as a ‘waste of time’ but she revealed that she had plans for when the heatwave was over.

“I have every intention into making it my third wildlife pond once summer is over,” she wrote.
