Woman charged with DUI after reportedly driving through crash scene, striking traffic cones on I-95
A Trumbull woman was charged with driving under the influence after reportedly driving through a crash scene and striking several traffic cones on Interstate 95 in Fairfield, police said.
Allison Soto, 22, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to drive in the proper lane and failure to slow down or move over for an emergency vehicle, according to Connecticut State Police.
State troopers and members of the Fairfield Fire Department were investigating a motor vehicle crash on I-95 North just south of Exit 22 about 3:30 a.m. on Sunday and had the right lane closed to traffic, state police said.
A vehicle drove through the closed area and struck multiple cones that had been set up around the crash scene, according to state police.
Troopers pulled over Soto and reportedly noticed that her eyes were bloodshot. Troopers conducted a sobriety test that reportedly Soto failed.
Soto was arrested and later released on a $500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in court in Bridgeport on June 20, state police said.
