Tragic details of fatal Towie holiday crash revealed
TOWIE star Lauren Goodger’s tragic ex was nearly three times the drink-drive limit and on cocaine when he died in a horror crash.
Jake McLean, 33, was behind the wheel of the Mercedes E-Class when it left the road and plunged down a ravine.
An inquest heard he died of “traumatic head injuries”.
Passenger Yazmin Oukhellou, 28, who has also been in Towie, was badly hurt in the smash, but managed to crawl from the wreckage.
A post-mortem in Turkey after the 4.30am accident in Bodrum last July showed the booze and drugs in Jake’s system.
Coroner Dr Shirley Radcliffe told the inquest in Walthamstow, East London, last week: “The post-mortem found no natural disease, as you would expect in a young man of 33.
“The cause of death was skull fractures and brain damage.
“As far as I can see, he was driving under the influence — nearly three times over the legal limit for driving and had cocaine in his system. My conclusion is that this is an RTC.”
Lauren, who dated Jake for four years, attended his funeral last August.
But Yamzin was banned by his family over allegations a row between the pair had played a part in the crash.
Jake’s mum Anita Walsh was at the inquest and asked if there were more details available about the build-up to the crash.
But Dr Radcliffe told her: “Turkey is not the most helpful — it’s taken almost a year to get the post-mortem.”
