Man Utd pursuing a left winger and second midfielder after Mount - Report
Manchester United are chasing a deal for Chelsea star Mason Mount this summer.
According to The Telegraph, the Red Devils are set to make a £50 million bid to sign the 24-year-old this month.
Erik ten Hag’s side face competition from Liverpool and Arsenal, but they are reportedly confident of agreeing a deal for the talented midfielder.
Chelsea are believed to be reluctant to lose their academy star but they must sell this summer to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules.
Apart from Mount, United are in the market for a left-winger and another midfielder too.
The Premier League giants are also preparing a move for Harry Kane but will likely find it hard to convince Tottenham Hotspur for a transfer.
The 29-year-old’s current contract is set to expire in 2024, with Spurs facing the risk of losing him for free next year.
United targeting a left-winger and another midfielder
Marcus Rashford has mainly played as a left-winger this season, and he performed an excellent job in that role.
The England international has a brilliant deputy in Alejandro Garnacho, while Jadon Sancho can also be used in that position. So adding another left-winger doesn’t make much sense.
However, Manchester United will probably have to sign two more midfielders due to expected departures of several players.
Donny van de Beek is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, while Fred and Scott McTominay will also likely be moved on.
The Red Devils have also decided against making Marcel Sabitzer’s loan move permanent, and so he is set to return to Bayern Munich.
