Shoppers rush to Asda desperate to nab 10p bargains to brighten up their gardens – but you’ll have to be quick
WITH the weather heating up, if you want to give your garden an upgrade but on the cheap, you’ve come to the right place.
Shoppers are scrambling to get to their local Asda stores, desperate to nab 10p bargains that are sure to brighten up your garden this summer.
One bargain hunter, Laura Jones, was lucky enough to get her hands on a whopping haul of plants, for only 68p – yes, you heard that correctly.
What should have cost her £18, Laura saved £17.32 on her new plants.
Laura proudly took to Facebook to show off her epic cut-price buys, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting in the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, which has 2.2million members, the thrilled shopper shared a picture of her reduced plants.
She said: “My bargain of the week!
“22p for the hanging baskets, 14p for the gooseberries and 10p for the pot of marigolds.
“Cost 68p instead of £18 on clearance in my local Asda.”
Laura later added: “These were a bit on the dry side but still healthy.
“There were a few that were so dead they just looked like pots of soil.”
Laura shared her post just 10 hours ago, but it has quickly amassed 216 likes and 18 comments.
Social media users were impressed with Laura’s finds and were desperate to nab the cheap plants, which many took to the comments to express.
One person said: “I’m heading to my Asda today to see what they have.”
Another added: “Bargain.”
A third commented: “So jealous I need some of these for our council flat shared garden” to which Laura replied “Stop by your local asda. You never know.”
Whilst one Facebook user tagged a friend and asked: “[Are] you going [to] Asda at all?”
At the same time, one social media user posted: “I NEVER FIND THESE KINDS OF REDUCTIONS.”
Meanwhile, many shoppers claimed that their local Asda store just “lets plants die”, rather than reducing them.
One shopper claimed: “Brilliant…though I think our Asda just lets them die….always look shrivelled up.”
Whilst a second chimed in: “My store doesn’t reduce the plants, it just lets them die.”
