National Hydro Electric Power Corporation (NHPC), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Maharashtra government to build pumped storage hydro projects totaling 7,350 MW capacity with an investment of Rs 44,000 crore ($6.2bn). The projects will offer energy storage solutions to achieve the national objective of 500 GW of installed capacity of renewable energy by 2030.
