Woman, 29, fight for life and 23-year-old woman injured after horror knife attack as 22-year-old man is arrested
A WOMAN is fighting for life and another badly injured after a horror knife attack in South London.
One man has been arrested following the stabbing, which happened in Croydon at around 2pm on Friday.
Police charged to the scene on Grenaby Avenue where they found a 29-year-old woman with stab wounds and administered first aid.
She was rushed to hospital by ambulance where she remains in a critical condition.
A second woman, 23, was also treated for minor injuries.
A 22-year-old man, who cops say is known to the two women, has been arrested and remains in custody.
The Metropolitan Police are now appealing for information and witnesses to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called shortly before 2pm on Friday, June 9 to reports of a disturbance at a residential address in Grenaby Avenue, Croydon.
“Officers attended and found a 29-year-old woman suffering from stab injuries. They immediately provided first aid.
“The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance also attended.
“The woman was taken to a South London hospital where she remains in a critical condition. Her family has been informed.
“A second woman, aged 23, was treated for a minor injury.
“A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“He remains in custody at a south London police station. The man arrested is known to the two women.”
