Afghan Women Cycling Team Secures 10th Position in Asia
Afghanistan cycling federation has announced that Afghan women’s cycling team has left their mark at the Asian Cycling Championship held in Thailand.
The incredible performance and unwavering determination Afghanistan women’s cycling team showcased in the competition is proof of their resilience that dreams can become a reality with hard work and dedication under tough circumstances.
Despite all the odds, their unwavering spirit has inspired a nation and paved the way for future generations of Afghan women to pursue their dreams fearlessly as they have already done in different domains including sports, education, creativity, research and more at national and international levels.
While expressing his gratitude, the President of Afghanistan Cycling Federation Fazli Ahmad Fazli thanked the athletes, coaches, and everyone who supported and believed in Team Afghanistan Women, “Your belief and encouragement have been instrumental in our success,” Mr. Fazali said.
“This 10th position in Asia is not just about cycling, it is a triumph of women’s empowerment, breaking barriers, and shattering stereotypes. Together, we are rewriting history and creating a brighter future for,” Afghanistan cycling.” Fazli said.
This comes as Afghan women and girls have been completely deprived of accessing their basic natural rights including the right to education, work, sports and entertainment in Afghanistan under the Taliban regime.
In their home country, Afghan women and girls have been erased from public life and kept inside the house, whereas, in the outside world, they rewrite history through their exceptional accomplishments across domains, particularly in sports.
