I was fed up of the annoying weeds ruining my garden, so I fixed it with an easy hack – and it’s totally free too
A SAVVY gardening enthusiast has revealed how she banished pesky weeds from her property with a hack that cost her absolutely nothing.
There’s nothing quite as frustrating as seeing all your hard work in the garden being destroyed by ugly weeds – luckily, one woman has shared an effective trick that’s also free.
According to the whizz, Kia Jade, from Australia, the solution is simple – boiling water.
The Aussie gardening fanatic, who regularly shares advice on TikTok as @kia_urbangardener, claimed that this trick will ”kill” the plant.
In her video, Kia started by boiling her water in a pot before pouring it directly on the weeds by her property.
After some time, she then proceeded to remove the weeds by pulling them out – the boiling water should make this process easier.
Kia also added that pulling the weeds out of the soil was not necessary – sometimes, she just lets them ”die” on their own.
”They eventually do grow back but it’s a good form of maintenance without using harsh chemicals where possible,” the Aussie whizz went on in the comments.
Since being uploaded on the popular social media platform, the clip has racked up over 46k views.
Whilst many saved the video, others shared recommendations on how to improve the boiling water hack.
One said: ”put lots of salt in.”
Another thanked Kia, adding: ”I’ve used vinegar but boiling water is free. Definitely going to try.”

”That kills insects, buy a crevice tool and pop them out by the root in seconds,” someone else advised.
But although many want to get rid of weeds, one gardener, Rachel de Thame, has urged people not to kill them.
The Gardeners’ World presenter advised Brits to let weeds grow freely, explaining the reason behind this is to do with “putting nature first”.
Chatting to the Daily Telegraph, Rachel said: “A lot of people still want their garden to look cared for and, for many, that means pulling out all the weeds.
“I read something the other day about killing your weeds and it felt old fashioned.
“I was driving on a motorway the other day and the central area dividing the carriages had been mown. Why on earth is public money being used to get rid of a froth of cow parsley?”
This pro has since left one part of her garden completely untouched as she learns to live alongside the weeds.
She said that watching the weeds come in has been a ”revelation”.
“Insects are amazing and I’m so glad that my garden has more weeds in it now than ever.”
