Six boys and two girls arrested after teenager stabbed to death
Six boys and two girls aged between 15 and 17 have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed to death in Bath.
The boy, 16, was found fatally wounded yesterday evening in the northwest Weston neighbourhood.
Passers-by provided the boy with first aid before paramedics arrived but the teen died at the scene.
A 35-year-old woman was also stabbed in the incident which took place at an address along Eastfield Avenue.
She was taken to Royal United Hospital and has since been discharged.
The eight suspects were arrested on a bus on Lansdown Lane at 11.30pm – all remain in police custody.
A police cordon has been placed around Eastfield Avenue, Avon and Somerset Police said today.
An autopsy is set to take place shortly to determine the boy’s cause of death.
Chief Inspector Ronald Lungu, of the Bath Neighbourhood Team, said: ‘This is a tragic incident and our thoughts this morning are very much with the family of the boy who has died.
‘They were informed of what happened as soon as possible and are understandably devastated.’
