3 Pakistani Soldeirs Killed in Gun Battle With Militants in North Waziristan
Three security personnel were killed during a gun battle with militant fighters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district, the military officials said on Sunday.
During an intense exchange of fire between security forces and anti-government militants which took place on Miran Shah on Saturday night, three security forces were killed, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said.
According to the statement, the security forces were able to effectively attack the terrorist’s location, killing three terrorists and injuring four others. Certain weaponry and ammunition were discovered from the killed militants.
The three Pakistani soldiers who died during the intense exchange of fire included Subedar Asghar Ali, Sepoy Muhammad Zaman and Sepoy Naseem Khan. As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, as security forces have already conducted a search operation in the area.
“Armed forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement said.
Earlier this week, in three separate terror incidents, at least three army personnel were killed in the North and South Waziristan regions of Pakistan.
Since the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ended its unilateral ceasefire with the Pakistani government, the group has intensified attacks across Pakistan mostly targeting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and areas bordering with Afghanistan.
