“Though not entirely, the narcotics trade is certainly playing a significant role in Manipur violence,” said Vallalien Pulamte, an associate professor in the political science department of GC College in Assam’s Silchar. Pulamte, who belongs to the Hmar community, has lost 40 members of his extended family in the violence in Imphal.
