City conducts survey
on parks and rec plan
The city is conducting a survey to gather resident input on a parks and recreation master plan.
A random sampling of 4,500 residents has been invited by mail to take the survey. All city residents will be asked to offer feedback through an online survey later this month.

SAN RAFAEL
College to hold
lecture on India
The Marin Chapter of the World Affairs Council will hold a talk Thursday focused on India.
University of California at Berkeley South Asian specialist Darren Zook will deliver a lecture, “Understanding India, Its Politics, Culture and Society,” at 7 p.m. in the Creekside Room at Dominican University.
The cost is $7 for members; $10 for the public. Students are admitted free.

Teen arrested in
church dispute
A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of battery causing serious injury after allegedly punching a church elder.
The incident happened June 9 at St. Luke Presbyterian Church at 10 Bayview Drive.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the church after the elder asked a group of teens hanging out on the roof of the building to leave.
One teen climbed down and struck the elder. The elder lost consciousness and suffered a broken jaw, facial fractures, and a possible concussion, said sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Schermerhorn.
The teen was booked into Juvenile Hall. The suspect’s name, age and hometown were not released.

Public lot to close
during high tide
The lower half of the Manzanita commuter lot will be closed to prevent vehicles from flooding.
Tidal flooding is projected June 30-July 7. The lower half of the lot and the shoulder along Highway 1 will be closed.
The California Department of Transportation will begin warning motorists with electronic sign messages this week.
