One happy shopper was left thrilled when shopping in his local Asda, when he spotted the cheap find.
Dylan River Comrie proudly took to Facebook to show off his epic cut-price purchase, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting in the Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, which has 2.2million members, the thrilled shopper shared a picture of his find – the Ronseal, quick drying decking stain in the shade ‘rocky grey’.
Originally priced at £16, Dylan picked up the garden buy for just £1.60.
With a saving of £14.40, it’s no surprise that Dylan was pleased with his bargain buy.
He said: “Ronseal 2.5L Decking stain £1.60 in Asda Living Stafford (not sure on all locations).”
He then added: “Natural oil was £2 and teak [was] 80p.”
Dylan shared his post 19 hours ago, but it has quickly amassed 74 likes and 102 comments.
Social media users were stunned at the cheap buy and many were eager to express this in the comments.
One person said: “I don’t even have decking and I want to buy it.”
Another added: “Good for you, now that’s a great bargain.”
A third commented: “I had it for £1.10 in my local Asda, it’s last year’s old stock.”
Meanwhile, one shopper claimed: “Yeah in a colour nobody wants.”
At the same time, one shopper posted: “It’s £16 not £1.60” to which Dylan explained: “I can confirm [it was] £1.60. I purchased it at that price.”
Dylan posted a picture of his Asda receipt, showing that he purchased six of the deck stains, for just £1.60.
He spent £9.60 in total on the decking stains at the Queen Retail Park Asda in Stafford.
Saving a total of £86.40 on his shopping haul, Dylan continued: “Asda do something called local pricing, so it’s not always the same price everywhere.
“Who’s got time to photoshop images to trick people over a bargain?”
So if your decking is looking a bit tired and needs some TLC, you’ll need to move fast if you want to get your hands on this brilliant buy.
