Shares of 3i Infotech, a smallcap IT firm, rose 5.6% to INR35.6 ($0.48) on 22 September on news that its NuRe FutureTech subsidiary had signed an MOU with an engineering college in Chennai to establish an artificial intelligence lab. 3i Infotech opened an office at IIT Madras Research Park in Chennai earlier this year to work on next-gen technologies. The new partnership aims to bridge the skill gap in industry and will pave the way for similar initiatives, according to the company's CEO.
