Journalist claims Premier League club are eyeing Lucas Moura deal after Spurs exit
Journalist Rudy Galetti has claimed that Crystal Palace are considering a move for departed Tottenham winger Lucas Moura.
Moura said goodbye to Tottenham last month following five-and-half years at the club, with the winger now a free agent.
The former PSG man will always be remembered fondly by the Spurs faithful as he gave the fan base the best moment in the club’s recent history with his heroics against Ajax in the Champions League semifinal back in 2019.
The 30-year-old is now on the lookout for a new club and he admitted in an interview to AS last week that he has already received some offers.
The Brazilian explained that he has to pick a destination that would also suit his family but ruled out a return to his homeland at this stage of his career.
Lucas Moura may have a chance to stay in England
Galetti has now revealed that Moura could have a chance to remain in England as Palace are currently monitoring him.
The journalist added that the winger has also received offers from Saudi Arabian clubs.
He told GiveMeSport: “Crystal Palace are monitoring the situation of some free agents, including Lucas Moura.
“He is also strongly appreciated in Saudi Arabia. At the moment, there have been no concrete moves for him, but Palace remain interested in the former Tottenham player.
“However, their priority is to sign a replacement for Zaha, so the evaluations of Moura are going on a little bit in the background.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I have no doubt that Moura will receive quite a few offers from the top five leagues as he certainly has a couple of years left in him at the highest level.
However, I would not be surprised if the winger is tempted to accept a big-money offer to move to Saudi Arabia since this would be the last big contract of his career.
