Marshfield, WI, June 17, 2023 – It was Kids Bike Night at the races, tonight, and youth filled the stands for their chance to win a bike of their choosing. Special thanks to the many fans, drivers, car owners, and sponsors, for putting a big smile on so many children’s faces, as they received a bike or other gifts. Also, thanks to all the drivers for providing kids stock car rides for all the children, a tradition that dates back into the 1960’s!
In Super Late Model action, it was our guest from Minnesota, Michael Haggar setting fast time. Mark Eswein crossed the finish line first in the Chili Implement Six For Six Dash, and Dillon Mackesy edged Ryan Kemnetz for the Heat win.
In SLM feature action, it was Dillon Mackesy putting his #93 car out front for the first seven laps, with Ryan Kemnetz and Darek Gress running second and third respectively. Jerad DeBoer worked his way through the field in his #7-11 car, with some impressive inside moves. With Darek Gress grabbing the top spot from Mackesy on lap 8, DeBoer grabbed the second spot, one lap later. DeBoer moved to the inside of Gress, and the two drivers raced door handle to door handle for five laps. On lap 12, DeBoer was able to take the top spot away. On lap 16, caution flew for the first time, for an incident in turn two. On the restart, Gress chose the high side, and was able to pull away from DeBoer, and one lap later, Mark Eswein made the inside pass of DeBoer for the runner up position. It was evident that DeBoer’s ride wasn’t as good after the caution. Gress would hold control of the race until lap 21, that was when Mark Eswein put his #71 stock car to the front of the field. Gress stayed within striking distance of Eswein in case the #71 car slipped up in a corner, but not the case tonight. Mark Eswein was nothing short of sensation, as he showed patience working his way through the field, and earning another feature win at Marshfield Motor Speedway. With Darek Gress having a great run in the Action Racing Asphalt Rocket #107.5, and finishing second, it was Jerad DeBoer in the #7-11 grabbing the third spot. Rounding out the top five, it was Darren Jackson & Brad Gajewski finishing 4th and 5th respectively.

In this highly competitive division, the X-Treme 4’s put on an excellent show for the Marshfield fans! In qualifying, it was Tim Anderson clocking in fastest with a lap time of 21.697 seconds. Heat winners tonight were Kamren Hill & Tim Anderson.
Once the X-Treme 4’s took the green flag from Starter Tom Ledin, it was Jake Halterman grabbing the early lead. Halterman’s lead was brief, however, as Kamren Hill would take over the top spot on lap 2. Hill would hold the top spot until lap 6, that was when Mike Meharg put his #40 to the front. Meharg would hold the top spot with Anderson a close second, for the next nine laps. Jeremy Kemnetz, who calls Hancock, WI home, put his very fast #5 car in the third spot by lap nine, then eclipsed Anderson with 4 laps remaining. Kemnetz now set his sites on Meharg for the top spot, only question was if he would run out of laps to do so. With Meharg and Kemnetz coming to the white flag, it was Kemnetz making the pass, and completing the final lap in the top spot for the race win. As Meharg and Anderson dragged to the finish line for the runner up position, it was Anderson gaining the position by inches over Meharg. Cameron Kemnetz finished 4th, with Jake Halterman grabbing the fifth spot.

Marshfield’s John Domine took the early lead in the Bandit feature, Domine would lead the first few laps, with Tom Lecher running in second. On lap three, it was Sam Sheahen in his #715 taking the top spot away from Domine. With Sheahen out front, Eric Breitenfeldt put his #14 car in second, and in hot pursuit of Sheahen for the race lead. With Jamie Cliver at the wheel of the Tyler Custer #57 car, and running in the third spot, it was Sheahen and Breitenfeldt putting on a great show for the fans as they battled for the top spot. Once the top two drivers exited turn four and seen the white flag, indicating one lap remaining, Breitenfeldt made his #14 stick to the bottom, getting great drive off the corner, getting to Sheahen’s inside. As the two drivers battled on the last lap, it was Eric Breitenfeldt completing the pass, and putting his hot rod in the Solutionz Victory Lane. Jerryd Armagost found his way into victory lane, as the #87 Six-Shooter edged Joey Kuhn for the race win. Edging out Michael Kluck for the win in heat #2, it was Craig Lyon grabbing the win in his brightly colored #97 car.
In feature action for the Six-Shooters, it was Patrick Literski putting his #19 car out front early. Randy Komis quickly grabbed the lead away from Literski, as Travis Hill held down the third spot. By lap nine, it was Komis, Lyon, and Kluck, holding down the top three spots. With two laps remaining, Kluck passed Lyon for the second spot, and set his sites on a fast Komis for the lead. On the final lap, it was Kluck and Komis racing side by side, with Lyon waiting to make his move. As the three drivers exited turn four and motored down the front stretch, Komis and Kluck made contact, and Craig Lyon raced by the top two on the top side, for the race win. With 16 Skidders taking to the track for their feature event, it was noticeable that the fans were in for one heck of a treat. Dusty Zander put his #77 Skidder it the top spot for the first three laps. On lap four, it was Jake Baehman taking over the helm. In the pass few years, Baehman has become very skilled in his talents as a Skidder driver. With Baehman and Zander drifting their way through lap traffic and spun out cars, and Montgomery Lutz holding down third, it was evident of the skills instilled in these drivers. As they crossed the finish line, it was status quo, Baehman pocketing the win, with Dusty Zander a strong second, and Montgomery Lutz grabbing the final podium spot. If fans have never seen all these drivers perform, it’s a must see!
