I love to tan in my backyard – but I’ve realized my neighbors are looking right at me, it’s awkward
A WOMAN’S love of tanning in her backyard has become more awkward since she realized her neighbors have been looking right at her.
But she’s at a loss to know what to do about it because she has nowhere else to soak up the sun’s rays.
She shared her discomfort on her TikTok, hoping she wasn’t the only one experiencing this sort of problem.
Emma Sayre (@emmasayre14) hails from Iowa State and it was where she posted her tanning video.
Lying face-up on a beach mat, her sunglasses were pulled back on her head as she addressed her thorny issue.
She wore a cute multi-colored bikini. “Anyone else feels weird tanning in their backyards?” she asked her viewers.
It was something Emma really liked doing. “I love to tan in my backyard because it’s nice out.”
But as she looked around it began to register with her that her tanning spot was not exactly far from prying eyes.
“I have a nice big backyard, but then I realize that my neighbors can see me,” she said.
Her problem was about to get worse. “I live in a busy street even just driving slowly past and they happen to look over they can definitely see me.
“But people walking past, they’re probably like, what the freak is this girl doing, just laying there in her swimsuit?”
She panned her camera around to show how close her neighbors were.
“Like that house literally can look right down at me and they have a little kid and saw my swimsuits, even super crazy revealing.”
It made her feel uncomfortable. “It just feels kind of weird.”
In conclusion, she said brightly, “Just bother my sunset.”
Commenters related to her post, with one saying: This is how I feel too.”
Another also tanned in her backyard: “I was just outside tanning and I’m sure my neighbors thought I was crazy.”
The final commenter advised to just take no notice: “It’s your own backyard. If they stare they’re the weirdos,” she said.
