Gardening tips 2023 — Easy fix for yellow patchy grass during summer – and it’s something every gardener should know

YELLOW grass often happens during the summer, but it isn’t always caused by the dry weather.

Patchy grass may be caused by incorrectly mowing your lawn, according to lawn experts at Toolstation.

If your lawn appears yellowish in color with tips on the blades, there is a simple solution.

“The white tips indicate that the mower is tearing the blades of grass, creating frayed edges,” explained the lawn maintenance experts.

“As a rule of thumb, mower blades should be sharpened after every 25 hour of use.”

Yellow grass can also be caused by disease, which too can be prevented by mowing your lawn correctly.
