Protests against multilingual retelling of the Ramayana, "Adipurush," have led to a ban of all Hindi films in Nepal. The film, now shown in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Tamil, was released on Friday and has already grossed INR340 crore. The film features characters from a much-loved mythological epic and has come under attack for its dialogue and representation. Protesters demanded the film's characters be re-scripted; spurring Union Minister Anurag Thakur to step in, saying nobody has the right to hurt the sentiments of people.
