A team from the IBC met Industries Minister MB Patil in Bengaluru on Monday and placed a formal request for the plot of land. "Given the scope for growth of the electric vehicle sector in the country, there is a need to scale up the lithium cell battery production,” Patil said. The final decision on land allocation will be made after consulting Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, he added.
