‘Top 30’ – Spurs star Richarlison makes confident prediction about his future
Richarlison has admitted that he has not quite been among the best players in the Premier League recently but insisted that he will soon ‘definitely’ be among the top 30 stars around the world.
Richarlison has flattered to deceive since his £60m switch to Tottenham last summer, finishing the campaign with just one Premier League goal across 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).
His lack of goals has seen the 26-year-old come under scathing criticism, with Gabby Agbonlahor even naming the Spurs star as the captain of his ‘Flops 11 of the season’ recently (talkSPORT).
However, that number perhaps does not do justice to the Brazilian, who has dealt with some difficult circumstances this season, including multiple injuries, being played out of position, and even plain bad luck in front of goal.
Richarlison thinks he can reach top 30 in the world
Spurs fans will be hoping that Ange Postecoglou helps unlock the best of Richarlison next season and the former Everton man is certainly confident that he will make his critics eat their words.
He told The Players’ Tribune Brasil: “I try to do my best on the field. On the field of course, nowadays, I’m still not in, let’s say among the top 30 in the world, but soon I definitely will be, because that’s what I’m working for.”
Spurs Web Opinion
The fact that big clubs such as PSG and Real Madrid are seemingly interested in Richarlison despite his lacklustre first season at Tottenham, tells you all that you need to know about the 26-year-old’s quality.
I believe that both he and Yves Bissouma will almost be like new signings for Spurs next season as both have repeatedly demonstrated their quality in the Premier League over the years.
