Man killed in rollover crash in Vernon over weekend

A man was killed in a two-car crash in Vernon over the weekend.

Connecticut State Police said the accident was reported Saturday at about 5:48 p.m. on Interstate 84 in the area of Exit 67.

Driving a 2009 Nissan Altima, 27-year-old Alejandro Jose Defran Marte sideswiped a 2014 Honda pickup truck and then “overcorrected,” causing the Altima to strike the median and roll over, according to state police.

Marte, of no certain address, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Honda did not report any injuries.

State police are still investigating the crash.
