Glenview pediatric patient serves Chicago Cubs as honorary bat girl: ‘One of the best days of our life’

Mary Ahern, a 10-year-old from Glenview, received the thrill of a lifetime when she was invited to serve as honorary "bat kid" at the Chicago Cubs June 16 after being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes earlier this year.
